Clear Pathways

Therapy & Coaching — Different Paths, Different Purposes

Therapy helps address emotional and mental health concerns, often exploring your personal history, patterns, and wounds. Coaching is future-focused and goal-driven, designed to enhance performance, leadership, and life satisfaction. Please see the psychotherapy and coaching sections for more details. Psychotherapy can at times include some coaching elements. For example, career counseling. Coaching, however, cannot include psychotherapy.

THERAPY

Psychotherapy

Individual depth-oriented therapy rooted in existential-integrative principles, coordinating valid methods to address anxiety, trauma, other mental health concerns, and personal growth

A person can be fully human only if they are fulfilling their deepest inner nature.

My Approach to Therapy

Existential-Integrative Therapy: A Whole-Person Approach

How am I presently living my life, in this very moment? And, how am I willing to live my life, right now, in this moment? What is my relationship to death, love, isolation/connection, freedom/responsibility, meaning/mystery?

There are levels of consciousness and levels of freedom.

Though I primarily practice Existential-Humanistic (EH) therapy, and Somatic Experiencing (SE), my work is rooted in an Existential-Integrative (EI) way of understanding the process of therapy, which thoughtfully and ethically coordinates a range of therapy methods within an existential framework. Therapy isn’t only about managing symptoms—it’s about helping you live with more meaning, freedom, and creativity while facing life’s central themes like love and loss, connection and isolation, or freedom and responsibility.

In our work together, I may integrate:

Existential-Humanistic Therapy

Rediscovering meaning and “awe” (humility and wonder for the adventure of living); exploring freedom, authenticity, and presence.

Learn More

EMDR

Reprocessing distressing memories as a means to heal from PTSD and other trauma-stressor challenges (in compliance with EMDRIA standards). EMDR, like SE, has a powerful ability to reduce shame and restore a balanced confidence for living.

Learn More

Personality Psychology

Using reputable tools to deepen self-understanding and guide growth.

Learn More

Dream Work / Depth Psychology

Engaging the unconscious and symbolic dimensions of experience.

Learn More

CBT

Shifting unhelpful thought and behavior patterns.

Learn More

Somatic Experiencing (SE)

Helping the body release and regulate stress and trauma; expanding our capacity for at the nervous system and “felt” level for experiencing a wider range of human experience; increasing our ability to regulate our emotions.

Learn More

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Strengthening motivation and commitment to change.

"Dr. Chris Bradshaw is one of those rare human beings who is as passionate and present toward his work with clients as he is toward psychological inquiry and scholarship. He is a superb writer, thinker and presenter. Dr. Bradshaw is among the best I have known in the clinical field and I am delighted to see him launch his professional career."

"Chris has great compassion, presence, and intellectual ability and he brings these into his way of being in the world, as well as his work as a psychologist and therapist. We need more of this in the field and in society. Especially the compassion and the presence. I've enjoyed getting to know him as a student and now as a colleague. He is a great spokesperson for Existential-Humanistic psychotherapy. His research on the client experience of therapeutic presence is an important contribution on an important subject."

My Approach to Supervision

Clinical Supervision: A Collaborative, Growth-Focused Approach

As an Arizona Board-approved supervisor, I provide clinical supervision for Licensed Associate Counselors (LACs) working in my private practice or within agencies that offer on-site oversight. With 16 years in the mental health field—spanning clinical, leadership, and training roles—I bring depth and a strengths-based approach to the supervision process.

Supervision is more than fulfilling licensure hours; it’s a chance to sharpen your clinical thinking, strengthen your therapeutic presence, and approach complex cases with greater clarity and confidence.

In our work, we’ll reflect on your cases, discuss decision-making, and practice skills that help you stay grounded and resilient. I draw from evidence-based approaches within an existential, humanistic, and meaning-centered perspective, ensuring supervision feels both practical and deeply connected to your development as a professional.

I believe in the common factors in psychotherapy; the necessity of “practicing” therapy via methods like short role-play sessions where, for example, you might portray one of your clients and I may serve as the therapist, or vice-versa. I also believe in developing strong case conceptualization skills in modalities that resonate with you personally as a clinician and human. Further, I place a strong emphasis on ethics and we will review ethical standards closely.

In our work together, I may integrate:

My Approach to Therapy

Existential-Integrative Therapy: A Whole-Person Approach

My work is rooted in Existential-Integrative (EI) Psychotherapy, which blends different methods within a humanistic and experiential framework. This means therapy isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about helping you live with more meaning, freedom, and creativity while facing life’s central themes like love and loss, connection and isolation, or freedom and responsibility.

Together, we may explore thought patterns, behaviors, past experiences, and how your life aligns with your values. I draw on approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and EMDR when they’re helpful, but always return to the deeper work of understanding who you are and what truly matters to you.

In our work together, I may integrate:

  • The information provided on this website is for educational and informational purposes only and should not be considered as professional psychological or medical advice. While therapy can be a helpful process for many individuals, and Dr. Bradshaw certainly has helped many individuals over the years reach their goals and enhance their lives (and has been helped considerably by his own work with therapists), there is no guarantee of specific outcomes, and results will vary from person to person.

The therapeutic process is deeply personal and depends on many factors, including the nature of the issues being addressed, the client's engagement in the process, and other external factors. As such, therapists cannot (and Dr. Bradshaw and Fully Human Psychology does not) promise or predict the speed at which progress or specific goals will be achieved. Each client's journey is unique, and therapy may take more or less time than anticipated.

Some individuals may notice decreases in negative symptoms quickly and yet find that other goals take longer than they anticipated and yet may find themselves enjoying working toward these longer-term goals. Others may notice that symptoms temporarily increase, and yet they feel more capable of working with them at the same time and safer working with them. The possibilities are many. This website represents some of the general aims, philosophy, research, theory, and potentialities of psychotherapy and of these approaches to therapy--but does not guarantee specific outcomes within specific timeframes. Dr. Bradshaw includes them here because part of success in therapy is generating and accessing our meaning and hope, and because he has seen many of these potentialities become a reality for himself and others through therapy and other means--especially when we can trust the process, work hard, practice self-compassion and patience, and challenge ourselves in a supportive environment.

Please consult directly with your therapist or a licensed mental health professional for advice tailored to your individual situation.
